Achieving success with older jobseekers: Training services for welfare to work providers

People aged 50+ will represent a significant proportion of those referred to welfare to work providers under the Work Programme. The percentage of over-50s out of work for 12 months or more remains the highest of any age group. Nearly half of those claiming incapacity benefits are aged over 50. Yet most providers have little experience of working with people aged 50+. Few have achieved the same level of success with this age group as they have with younger people.

As the creator and developer of the online 50+ Works Good Practice
Guide
for providers supporting older jobseekers, we are uniquely placed to increase advisers’ understanding of this age group, their effectiveness and success.

We offer the following training consultancy on working with 50+ jobseekers.

Introduction to 50+ Works - half-day training for managerial and front line staff.

How to Work Effectively with Older Customers – a two-day training course. Working with 50+ Customers Far from the Labour Market (day one) is for front line staff interfacing with customers in the early stages of the customer journey. Helping Job-ready 50+ Customers into Employment (day two) is for frontline staff interfacing with customers who are job ready and for employment brokers.

Effective Delivery for Older Age Groups – a seminar for managerial and frontline staff.

Branch Training and Consultancy – tailored training and consultancy for managerial and frontline staff.
