EU Commission Adopts Wider Non Discrimination Directive Proposal

The European Commission has adopted a proposal for a directive which provides for wider protection from discrimination on grounds of age, disability, sexual orientation and religion or belief. It would cover areas of social protection - including social security and health care, and education - as well as access to and the supply of goods and services which are commercially available to the public, including housing.

Europeans Believe Age Discrimination Is Still Widespread

According to a new survey* conducted across all 27 member countries of the EU, 42% of Europeans see age discrimination as still being widespread. However, older respondents and women were more inclined to say so.
