The plight of younger workers in the current recession is of great importance to the public. The Government has responded to this with a range of policy interventions. However, with public attention focused on young people, the time is right to expand the debate and talk about what can be done to mitigate the impact of unemployment on other age-groups.

The purpose of this half-day conference is to raise the profile of rising unemployment among older workers and those over 25 more generally. It will explore what policy can do to help older workers in the wake of the recession.  You will:

  • hear from top politicians in the three main parties on their plans to tackle unemployment;
  • Learn about current thinking and future policy direction across the political specturm in the run up to the election;
  • Gain insight into what the general election will mean for you and your organisation;
  • Enhance your practical knowledge, hear from practitioner experts in their field about what more policy might do to help workers over the age of 25: and
  • Network and share ideas with others involved in this policy space, including welfare-to-work providers.

The conference will be held at Canterbury Court, Kennington Park Business Centre, London, SW9 6DE  (near Oval Underground Station)

Cost: £176 (inclusive of VAT);  TAEN members: £105 (inclusive of  VAT)
