Shaw Trust has acquired the brand and intellectual property of TAEN.
Chris Ball, TAEN’s former Chief Executive, has been appointed as Shaw Trust’s Specialist Adviser on the Ageing Workforce and will continue in this role to be responsible for continuing the use and development of TAEN’s brand and activity of supporting older workers within the Trust’s activities.
Chris was Chief Executive of TAEN for eight years. Prior to joining TAEN he was a freelance journalist, an HR consultant and a national officer of the union MSF (now Unite), where his responsibilities included the non-profit sector and the working environment.
Chris has worked with large and medium sized private sector companies in engineering, chemicals and pharmaceuticals as well as the statutory and third sectors. His experience includes employee relations, workplace health issues and diversity as well as conducting evidence-based research and investigations into sensitive issues. He led several campaigns around employment rights issues, working in parliament and elsewhere. Chris has written on work for the London Evening Standard, The Guardian and various other papers.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, holds a doctorate in industrial relations from the London School of Economics and is a member of the government agency, the Central Arbitration Committee.
